Swaim Enterprises, Inc. is a heavy construction contractor specializing in underground utilities (water/sewer), road construction, building site-work, landscaping, tank decommissioning and environmental remediation.

Swaim Enterprises began in 1992 with Kelvin Swaim’s purchase of a loader to perform snow removal to supplement his employee income from a local contractor, where he worked as a construction superintendent. In 1993 Mr. Swaim added a flatbed truck and backhoe to his equipment list, and started doing site-work, septic systems, and driveways. In 1994 Mr. Swaim went into business full time after obtaining a large private contract to do all site-work and underground utilities on a new Fed Ex building.

In 1995 Mr. Swaim incorporated the business, obtained DBE certification with the State of Alaska, Dept. of Transportation, and began bidding on State Highway projects in addition to residential work. In 1997 Mr. Swaim obtained 8(a) certification from the U.S. Small Business Administration. In 1998 Swaim Enterprises, Inc. performed projects with several Federal agencies, to include a $345,000.00 design/build scattered remote site water/sewer project with the Public Health Service. In 1999 Swaim Enterprises, Inc. completed several $250,000.00+ projects to include Chena Lakes Bike Path and Doyon Plaza Office Building. In 2000 Swaim Enterprises, Inc. completed upgrades on the Skeet Lounge and Building 2104 for the Corp of Engineers, a scattered remote site water/sewer project for ANTHC, Hanger Repairs for Fish & Wildlife, and site work for various IRHA projects. From 1998 to present Swaim Enterprises Inc. has been doing several Environmental Remediation projects at Ft. Wainwright, AK for the Corp of Engineers.

We continue to add new equipment to the company, and expand services available. Swaim Enterprises, Inc. has a local reputation for work of the highest quality, and Mr. Swaim is well known as an experienced, technologically advanced, honest, hard working contractor who can get the job done with precision and still meet time and price limits.
